GENERAL BOOKING QUESTIONS

When are the payments due? Do you offer payment plans?

To secure your wedding date, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required upon signing the contract. This deposit can be split into two payments, provided both are completed within 30 days. The final payment is due 30 days before the wedding. You are welcome to make smaller, partial payments prior to the due date, allowing you to create a flexible payment schedule that suits your needs.

How do we book our ceremony?

The entire booking process is completed online. To start, submit a request via our online form. If your requested date is available, we will send you a proposal. After reviewing the proposal and service agreement, sign the agreement and pay the deposit. Since we work on a first-come, first-served basis, we recommend confirming your date’s availability via email before signing the contract and making the non-refundable deposit.

How far in advance should we book our ceremony?

We recommend booking your ceremony no more than 18 months in advance. Most beaches only allow reservations up to a year ahead, and this timeline increases the likelihood of securing your desired date and location. If you're eloping with no guests, you may be able to book just a few days before, depending on availability.

Is our wedding date guaranteed when we book online?

At Intimate Beach Wedding (IBW), we perform ceremonies on public beaches. While booking with us secures our services, it does not automatically reserve the beach site or permit, if required. Each location has its own rules and guest limits, which may affect your chosen package. For State Park locations like Crystal Cove, couples must obtain their own permit, and we’ll be happy to guide you through the process.

What if we have to cancel?

Please note that all deposits are non-refundable.

What if it rains?

In the event of rain, we strive to be as flexible as possible with rescheduling the ceremony, based on the package and location you’ve booked. We also provide elegant clear umbrellas to keep your ceremony on track. However, couples are responsible for finding an alternate indoor location if weather conditions prevent the ceremony from proceeding outdoors.

What if we have to postpone?

Your deposit will be applied to a new date as long as it falls within 12 months of the original ceremony date. After 12 months, a new deposit will be required, and current pricing will apply. Please note that changes in beach locations may require new reservation and permit fees, which are often non-refundable. We cannot guarantee that your new date will be available at your original beach location.

PLANNING QUESTIONS

What time do you suggest we start the ceremony?

For couples looking to capture the golden hour in their wedding photos, we recommend starting your ceremony about one hour before sunset. You can check sunset times for your wedding date to plan accordingly.

What does the planning process look like?

After booking with IBW, you will gain access to a personalized planning portal, where you can complete worksheets that help us gather all the necessary details. Our coordinator will handle all communication with vendors, streamlining the process for you. In the weeks leading up to your wedding, you’ll have a final phone call with our coordinator to confirm all the details.

Can we bring our own decorations?

Yes! We welcome small, personal touches that can be incorporated into the décor of your ceremony.

Can we bring a cake or treats for our guests?

Yes. However, you will need to arrange for a table and utensils for your guests, as these are not provided.

Can you help with our reception?

Yes! We now offer a Ceremony + Reception Package at Salt Creek Beach, a stunning location for both your wedding ceremony and reception. This package is perfect for couples looking for a seamless, all-in-one beachside celebration.

Additionally, if your planning an off-site reception, you can customize your experience by adding extra coordination services, floral arrangements, photography, and videography to cover your reception needs.

Is the wedding party considered guests?

For guest count purposes, only seated guests are included. Wedding party members typically stand during the ceremony and are not counted. Additionally, guests in strollers or walkers who do not require seating are not included in the guest count.

DIY AND BYO QUESTIONS

Can we bring our own vendors?

Yes, but please inform us before signing your contract so we can ensure you are only paying for the services you need. After a contract is signed, services can be added, but not removed, and deposits are non-refundable.

Can we bring our own photographer?

Yes. If you intend to bring your own photographer, notify us before signing the service agreement, and we will apply a credit to your package. Please note, our photographer may still attend to capture images for our marketing, though you will not have rights to those photos.

Can we bring our own Wedding Officiant?

Yes. A credit will be applied to your package. You will be responsible for verifying the officiant's credentials and ensuring they correctly complete and file your marriage license. IBW is not responsible for the filing of marriage licenses with third-party officiants.

CEREMONY QUESTIONS

Can we write our own vows?

Absolutely! You will have the opportunity to discuss your vows during your consultation with our officiant.

Do you provide the marriage license?

In most cases, couples are responsible for obtaining their marriage license from the county clerk's office. Be sure to bring your marriage license to the ceremony, so our officiant can complete it. Some of our officiants are also notaries and can provide the marriage license to qualifying couples for an additional fee, payable directly to the notary.

LOCATION QUESTIONS

Can we book a ceremony that is not on the beach?

Yes, we are happy to provide services at parks, private homes, beach houses, and other private venues. If you have a specific location in mind, contact us to discuss your options.

Do we choose the location of the ceremony?

Absolutely! Your ceremony location is up to you, though it may be limited by the type of package you select. Standing ceremonies offer greater flexibility, while setups with décor may have location restrictions. Once your preferred location is identified, we will design the wedding to match that setting. FLORAL QUESTIONS

Do we get to decide how our flowers will look?

Yes! After booking, you will be able to submit your color palette and inspiration photos through our planning portal. Our talented florist will create a floral arrangement tailored to your unique vision.

Do you offer alternate floral arrangements for LGBTQ+ couples?
